Caption: Green moray eel (Gymnothorax funebris) emerging from its crevice to attack the camera. This moray eel can reach a length of up to 2.5 metres. It is a predator that hunts fish and cephalopods, mainly by night, spending the day in a crevice in a reef. As seen here, it readily defends its crevice from intruders. The green moray inhabits shallow reefs in the western Atlantic Ocean.
