Caption: Dileptus is large protozoan that uses a long neck to sweep bacteria into its mouth located at the base of its neck. Dileptus also consumes small protozoa and algae. This ciliate measures about 500 microns from tip to tail and was recorded under Nomarski DIC illumination.
