Caption: Canada geese (Branta canadensis) slipping and sliding on ice on windblown lake in Waterton National Park, Alberta, Canada. This goose is among the largest geese, with a wingspan of nearly two meters. It is native to North America where populations have grown considerably in recent years. Because of their great numbers, sometimes aggressive behavior, and the abundant droppings they leave behind, Canada geese are considered pests in many areas, and have become the target of lethal cullings.
