Caption: Sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus). This is a climbing plant, producing numerous tendrils (thin curling parts). When these make contact with something, they twine around it, anchoring the plant for further growth. The sweet pea can reach over two metres in height. It produces sweet-smelling flowers in early summer.
