Caption: Joshua Tree. View of a Joshua Tree (Yucca brevifolia) in its native habitat. The Joshua Tree has a thick stem and branches, with a small crown of long, thin leaves at the ends. It is very well adapted to life in the Mojave Desert; it remains dormant for long periods and becomes active very quickly in response to rains. Photographed at the Joshua Tree National Monument, California.
