Caption: American aspens. View of the Sun through autumnal American aspen trees, Populus tremuloides. The aspen is a species of poplar, also named the trembling aspen, so called because it appears to tremble in the wind. Its rounded leaves have flattened stalks, allowing the blades to flutter in the slightest breeze. Snow-covered fir trees (bottom) and mountain can also be seen. Photogra- phed in San Juan National Forest, Colorado, USA.
