Caption: Boab trees. View of silhouetted boab trees (Adansonia gregorii) at sunset. The boab is a very tough tree which has adapted to survive in conditions that are too hot and dry for many organisms. It survives by living along water courses in stony country. It stores water in the wood of its trunk. The boab tree provides food, water and shelter for the native aborigines. Photographed in Northwest Australia.
