Caption: Baobab tree (Adansonia grandidieri) growing in Tsimanampetsotsa national park in Madagascar. The Baobab can grow to heights of 30 metres and thrives in arid scrubland due to its large swollen trunk which stores water for the tree. The fibrous bark can be up to 15 centimetres thick and is used to make rope.
