Caption: This axial (cross sectional) CT image of the brain in an infant who suffered severe lack of oxygen shows extensive infarction of both cerebral hemispheres. The hemispheres are shrunken and there are large bilateral subdural fluid collections which contain a small amount of acute(recent) blood which are the region of bright signal towards the bottom of the subdural collections.
