Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Asthma attack. Young man holding his chest during an asthma attack. He is holding an aerosol inhaler which contains asthma treating drugs. Asthma attacks vary greatly, ranging from mild breathlessness to respiratory failure. Bronchial asthma is of two types: allergic, caused by dust, pollen, hair and air pollutants; and intrinsic asthma with no apparent external cause. The inhaler contains bronchodilator drugs (which widen the airways) and/or steroid drugs which reduce inflammation).
