Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Recurrent breast cancer. Breast of a 91-year-old woman with recurrent breast cancer. This malignant tumour of the breast tissue is the commonest form of cancer in women. Breast cancer may appear initially as a lump in the breast or armpit, with occasional discharge or bleeding from the nipple. Breast cancer is usually treated by surgical removal of the tumour accompanied by radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormone treatment. Breast cancer may recur locally or regionally in the breast or elsewhere in the body following treatment.
