Caption: This axial cross sectional CT image of the upper abdomen is through the level of the liver and spleen (on your right). The liver is the large structure on your left. Within the central portion of the liver are tubular structures with darker material which represent dilated bile ducts within the liver. This can be a result of an impacted gallstone or it can result from malignancies (cancer) such as cancer of the bile ducts or pancreatic cancer.
