Caption: This axial (cross sectional) T2 FSE image shows the typical appearance of a cavernous malformation which represents a cluster of dilated capillaries. These can cause symptoms such as seizures depending upon their location. They are better visualized on gradient echo T2 images because of magnetic susceptibility effects of blood breakdown products that accompany this MRI technique.
