Caption: Hodgkin's disease nodule. Gross clinical specimen showing a haemorrhagic nodule (red, centre) of the small intestine. This was caused by Hodgkin's disease, a type of lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes), where white blood cells undergo uncontrolled division and invade body tissues. Treatment will involve a combination of surgery, radiotherapy and drug therapy. Early treatment is usually successful.
