Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Cancer removal. Scar on the neck of a 25-year-old man, two weeks after surgey to remove a malignant haemangioblastoma. This cancer originates from blood vessels. It develops as a cystic swelling in the cerebellar hemispheres, but it may also develop in the retina or spinal cord. The presence of a tumour in the cerebellum results in increased intracranial pressure, which can cause a haemorrhage (bleed). Treatment involves surgical removal of the tumour.
