Caption: Common butterwort (Pinguicula vulgaris). This insectivorous plant attracts insects with its sticky leaves. Once the insects are trapped, the leaf curls around them and secretes digestive juices. The digested insects supplement nutrients from the soil. Photographed in June, in Cairngorms National Park, Highland Region, Scotland, UK.
