Caption: Gastric cancer. Light micrograph of a section through an adenocarcinoma of the stomach. Glandular cells with large or double nuclei (dark purple) are seen. An adenocarcinoma is a malignant tumour (neoplasm) arising from the epithelium of glandular structures. Stomach cancer requires early detection before it spreads. Partial or complete removal of the stomach (gastrectomy) is a common treatment. Magnification unknown.
