Caption: Saguaro cactus. Saguaro (or sahuaro) cactus (Carnegiea gigantea). This is one of the largest cacti in the world, a few specimens growing up to 15 metres in height with as many as 50 arms. This slow-growing desert plant grows in south-eastern California, southern Arizona and north-western Mexico. Photographed in the Saguaro Cactus National Monument, Arizona, USA.
