Caption: Lavender scallops leaves. Close-up of the leaves of the lavender scallops plant (Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi, variety isalensis). This perennial succulent is originally from Madagascar. It has thick, fleshy leaves of bluish-green, which become tinged with pink when the plant is grown in the shade. The edges of the leaves are scalloped, or "toothed", as seen here. Lavender scallops is also known as the South American air plant, although it has only recently been introduced into the southern United States and, possibly, South America.
