This 3-D image will be used in 3-D virtual reality assisted surgery to help plan and execute the removal of the tumour. The blue dots form a grid to help map the motor cortex of the cerebum, which controls voluntary muscle movement. The map is created by measuring the body's response to small electric currents. This mapping will enable the surgeon to correctly remove the tumour with minimum damage to the motor cortex of the brain.
