Saguaro cactus (Carnegiea or Cereus gigantea) in bloom. This cactus is found in arid regions of south-western USA and north-western Mexico. It is the largest member of the cactus family, reaching up to 18 metres in height. It flowers from May to June, its blooms opening at night and lasting only until the next day.
