Caption: Hodgkin's disease, chest X-ray. Large growth (white) of Hodgkin's lymphoma in the mediastinum, or interpleural space, between the lungs (black, left and right). Hodgkin's disease is a malignant (cancerous) growth of cells in the lymph system. Symptoms of Hodgkin's disease are swollen lymph nodes in the upper body, lack of energy, weight loss, fever and night sweats. Chest X-rays are used to view the lymph nodes and to investigate whether other organs are affected. Treatment is usually a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. If the disease is detected at an early stage it can often be completely cured.
