Seborrhoeic dermatitis, a form of endogenous eczema, appearing as the brown pigmentation near the hairline on a young woman's neck. Endogenous eczema occurs without any obvious external cause, and is classified according to its appearance and site. Seborrhoeic dermatitis appears on those regions of the skin where the concentration of sebaceous glands (which secrete the oily substance sebum) is greatest, as on the face, scalp and hairline.
