The epileptic brain scan was recorded after a fit, when the person was experiencing deja vu, a vivid psychic revelation in which contemporary experiences appear to be a repetition of past events. Deja vu is a classic symptom of temporal lobe epilepsy, a disease of the cortex of the temporal lobe (or the adjacent parietal lobe) of the brain.
