Different iris colours

Credit: DR M.A. ANSARY/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY

Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Different iris colours. Eyes of a patient with different colours in the iris of each eye, a condition called binocular heterochromia. The normal colour of the eyes is brown, and it is the right iris (blue) that is a different colour. It has also atrophied, with a loss of the thickness of the iris. Different colours for each iris can be a sign of an underlying disorder, such as a tumour. Photographed in Africa.
