Caption: Follow-up to seborrhoeic wart treatment. Remains of a a seborrhoeic wart on an 83-year-old man's scalp, following treatment by cryotherapy. This seborrhoeic wart is pigmented. The cryotherapy, which took place two weeks earlier, involved the use of liquid nitrogen to freeze the unwanted tissue to kill it. A seborrhoeic wart is a common non-cancerous (benign) skin tumour also known as basal cell papilloma or seborrhoeic keratosis. It is harmless, but may be removed by freezing (cryotherapy) for cosmetic reasons.
