Caption: Stomach polyps. Gastroscope (endoscope) view of gastric polyposis. Several small polyps (rounded growths) are seen. These are hyperplastic polyps, meaning they are formed from normal cells and are not cancerous. If the polyps were neoplastic (abnormal) they would have to be removed as they may turn malignant (cancerous). Hyperplastic polyps such as these are only removed if they cause symptoms.
