Caption: Ivy-leaved geraniums (Pelargonium peltatum) in a hanging basket. Not to be confused with plants from the genus Geranium, which are often referred to as hardy geraniums, these perennials originate from South Africa - introduced into Europe in 1701. Their flowering season is from spring until autumn and their trailing stem can grow up to 1 metre. They gained their name through their leaves' similarity to ivy.
