Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Scoliosis treatment scars (pink lines) after spinal surgery in a 15-year-old boy. The operation, done in two stages, was carried out to correct spinal curvature (scoliosis) caused by Soto's syndrome. Scoliosis is the sideways deforming of the spine, here due to Sotos syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. The scars show the curvature of the spine, and some curvature still remains.
