Miliary tuberculosis is an acute form of tuberculosis in which the infective bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) enter the blood and spread to other parts of the lungs or to other organs, such as the liver, kidney and spleen. The disease is often fatal. Treatment involves a long course of several antibiotics. Magnification x20 at 6x9cm size.
