Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD). Close-up of a rash on a 24 year old man's abdomen caused by an allergic reaction to nickel in his belt buckle. ACD arises from an induced sensitivity (allergy), as opposed to the direct damage of contact dermatitis. Nickel, the leading cause of ACD, is found in jewellery and clothes fastenings. Treatment is with corticosteroids and avoidance of the cause.
