Caption: This frontal x-ray of the lower aspect of the leg and ankle region shows multiple fractures. The long slender bone is the fibula. There is an oblique fracture of this at the ankle. The larger bone is the tibia which also shows a fracture. In addition to the fractures there is subluxation (malalignment) of the bones making up the ankle region including the tibia, fibula and the calcaneus. This person also has osteoporosis.
