Caption: Lymph node biopsy scar on the neck of a 42 year old man. During a biopsy part of a lesion is removed for examination and diagnosis. The lesion that was removed was a carcinoma, a cancer that did not originate in the lymph node. The primary source of the cancer is unknown. Once a cancer has spread (metastasised) the prognosis is often poor.
