Caption: Pipe smoker. Historical etching of a man holding a pipe used for smoking tobacco. Tobacco contains carcinogens and the addictive drug nicotine. Tobacco smoking is a major cause of lung cancer, heart disease and chronic bronchitis. The etching was made in the 1780s and is a copy of a work by the Dutch painter Adrian Ostades (1610-1685).
