Breast self-examination. Conceptual image of clock faces over a woman inspecting her breast with her hand during a self- examination. The clocks could represent the need for regular palpation (examination by touch) to detect the early stages of breast cancer or other growths. First there is a visual examination for changes in breast shape and surface texture. Then the fingers and the flat of a hand are run over each breast to the armpit to check the tissue more closely for lumps. Early detection and treatment of breast disorders give a better chance of a cure.
