Caption: Blood sample storage. A library of blood samples in a cryogenic freezer. The samples are maintained at a temperature of -76 Celsius. This ensures that they can be kept for future research. Some of the samples seen here date back to 1978, and are kept for research into retinoblastoma, a rare tumour of the retina that occurs in infants. All of the samples are from retinoblastoma sufferers, and may give a clue to any genetic or enzymological causes of the condition.
