Caption: Time-release capsules. They consist of a dissolvable external coat, usually made up with gelatine, which contains drugs in the form of small spheres. The spheres are manufactured with slightly different shapes and densities in order to release the drugs in the small intestine at a slow steady rate. In this way a medicine may be taken less frequently than if it was in the form of a conventional capsule. Different coloured spheres indicate different drugs.
