Caption: Vaccination. A district nurse vaccinates a young baby which is cradled in the arms of it's parent. The nurse is injecting a vaccine into the baby's leg. Vaccines are a preparation of foreign proteins which induce immunity against infectious diseases. Children are immunized against diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus at 3, 5 and 9 months; and against measles, mumps and rubella at 15 months. Photographed in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
