Caption: Mistletoe (Viscum album). This plant is partially parasitic. It has evergreen leaves with which to carry out photosynthesis, but relies on its host for mineral nutrients from the ground. Mistletoe is also used as a Christmas decoration and it is cutomary that any two people who meet underneath it should be obliged to kiss one another. Photographed at the Monti Aurunci Regional Park, Italy.
