Caption: Prevention of malaria. A selection of various 'barrier' methods for preventing contracting malaria. At left is a box holding an electric insect repellent diffuser (also seen at centre). This is plugged into a wall socket, and gently heats a tablet of repellent chemical. In centre background is a roll-on insect repellent, and at right are chemically-impregnated wrist and ankle bands. In the background at left is a mosquito net. As mosquito-borne malarial parasites have developed resistance to anti-malarial drugs, prevention of mosquito bites has become increasingly important.
