Aromatherapy burner. Aromatherapy oils being dripped onto a pottery aromatherapy burner from a bottle. The lower pot of the burner contains a candle which gently heats the fluid in the upper pot. The upper pot contains water and an aromatherapy oil made from fragrant herb and flower extracts (essential oils) suspended in a neutral oil (the carrier). The volatile plant extracts are released into the air as the oil is warmed. Aromatherapists claim that they can treat a range of disorders, particularly psychosomatic and stress-related conditions. However, aromatherapy is mainly used by people to create a sense of general well-being.
