Aromatherapy. Pottery aromatherapy burner. The lower pot contains a candle which gently heats the fluid in the upper, blue pot. The upper pot contains water and an aromatherapy oil. The aromatherapy oil is made from fragrant herb and flower extracts (essential oils) suspended in a neutral oil (the carrier). The volatile plant extracts are released into the air as the oil is warmed. Aromatherapists claim that they can treat a range of disorders, particularly psychosomatic and stress-related conditions. However, aromatherapy is mainly used by people to create a sense of general well-being.
