Dental X-ray. Radiographer prepares a female patient for a dental X- ray. Dental X-rays are images of the teeth and jaws. The part of the mouth to be imaged is placed between a tube emitting X-rays and a photographic film. Dental X-rays can reveal disorders of the teeth that a dentist would not see during a normal examination of the mouth. Here, a jaw rest and supports either side of the head keep the patient's head still while the picture is taken.
