Caption: Full-term infant receiving intensive care in an incubator. The infant was born after a difficult delivery suffering from meconium aspiration syndrome & other complications. Meconium is the faeces of a new-born infant, a dark green substance composed of cellular debris, mucus and bile pigments. Meconium in the amniotic fluid during labour is an indication of fetal distress. Photographed at a maternity hospital in Kuwait.
