Caption: Wild lupin leaf. View of drops of rain on a leaf of the wild lupin (Lipinus polyphyllus). The lupin has waxy leaves with a covering of fine hairs. This causes the water droplets to accumulate at the centre of the leaf. Smaller droplets are trapped in the fine hairs on the leaf. The waxy leaves help regulate the flow of water in and out of the leaf body. Photographed in Yosemite National Park, California, USA
