Caption: Prostate stones. Gross clinical specimen of stones in a prostate gland. Stones (calculi) are deposits of salts from bodily fluids (normally urine). They occur throughout the urinary system, most commonly in the kidneys and the ureters. Small stones are commonly found in the prostate gland, only being a problem in cases of bacterial infection. They stay in the prostate gland and do not pass through its outlet to the urethra.
