Dissection of the head and neck. The dissection has removed the lower jaw bone, lower palate and tongue, revealing the structures of the upper palate. The sinus spaces in the cheek bones are also shown. In the throat, the muscles around the trachea (windpipe) are seen. Artwork from around 1745, by the French artist Jacques Fabian Gautier d'Agoty (1717-1786).
