Exercise room at a spa. Early 20th century postcard of an exercise room at the Grande Source at the thermal spa town of Vittel, France. The history of Vittel dates back to 1854 when the spring was discovered by a French doctor, Louis Bouloumie. A mineral water and spa industry grew up in the town, with people travelling there to 'take the waters' to improve their health. In the early 21st century, Vittel remains a spa town, and the Vittel brand of mineral water is famous worldwide. The postcard dates from around 1910.
