Due to their popularity in medicine in both Russia and the Far East, Russia has a number of reindeer farms dedicated to producing antlers. The velvet from the antlers can either be consumed in dried form, or taken in an alcohol solution. It is believed to have curative properties, although there is no conclusive evidence for such.
