Caption: False-colour computer graphic X-ray image of a normal hand of a six and a half year old boy. At this stage the five metacarpal bones in the palm and the fourteen phalanges, three for each finger and two for the thumb, are completely formed. Some of the several bones situated in the wrist joint are identifiable at bottom centre (black) right above the terminal part of the ulna and radius. (Compare with P116/166 where a hand of a two year old boy is shown)).
